What is it?

BookinIT is a Software platform tailored for travel agencies. It allows your clients to independently search, book, and pay for travel packages through a seamless user experience on your website. It increases both B2C and B2B online sales, streamlining operations, and reducing staff workload through automated offer publication and reservation processing. Additionally, BookinIT equips agency employees with a centralized management interface, enabling efficient control of all offers, availability, pricing, and bookings in one place.

PHPTRAVELS is an open-source travel booking script (PHP/MySQL) that agencies can install on their own server. It’s a template for a travel portal, offering modules for flights, hotels, tours, etc. Highly customizable by the buyer.

Product functions

BookinIT provides an Intelligent Search and booking interface for tours, packages, accommodations, and flights, connecting both in-house offers and external supplier feeds. Key functions include Advanced dynamic filters, step-by-step booking wizard, automatic offer grouping, and real-time inventory and price synchronization. The platform focuses on delivering higher online sales with a perfect customer experience, efficient offer management, and effortless online sales for both B2C and B2B channels.

Multi-module travel portal: comes with modules for Flights, Hotels, Tours, Cars, and more. It provides an admin dashboard to manage bookings, payments, users, CMS pages, etc.

Suppliers options & communication

BookinIT can integrate to any supplier via API. BookinIT makes it easy to search and display offers with dynamic prices and avalilability from providers' inventories in one simple intutive system. Reservations are made automatically in suppliers systems so you do not need to write or call.

Supports integrating multiple travel APIs for inventory. Aside from APIs, it doesn’t have other supplier management. Does not include automated supplier notifications.

Direct flight bookings

Yes — via integrations. BookinIT connects to external flight content (e.g., GDS/consolidators or content hubs like Traffics) to enable live search, pricing, and booking of flights. Ticketing/PNR issuance is handled through the connected supplier/GDS. For charter/allotment flights, BookinIT can also display and manage seat availability as part of packages.

Supports flight bookings via API integration. users can plug in third-party flight data sources (GDS or consolidators) so customers can search and book flights on the site.

CRM

BookinIT stores customer details from bookings/inquiries, but no dedicated CRM module for leads or marketing. Can be connected to CRM system.

While PHPTRAVELS keeps customer records for each booking, it doesn’t offer a dedicated CRM module. “Client Management” is limited to viewing customer details in the admin.

Quoting

BookinIT includes quoting: create multi-option offers, keep prices and availability live, and send proposals.

It doesn’t have a quote or proposal tool. It’s intended for live bookings of predefined inventory. If a client wants a custom itinerary, the admin would likely create a custom tour in the system or handle it outside the system.

Operations

BookinIT manages bookings (reservations, inquiries) in a simple queue. Suited for simpler operations.

PHPTRAVELS lacks operational management. It provides booking details and statuses in the admin panel, but no features for managing the execution of tours. The focus is on the booking transaction itself.

Finances & Accounting

BookinIT can record booking payments, but invoices or payables management are not automated. External accounting software would be used for financials (through integration with BookinIT). Supports multi-currency.

Has an internal billing and invoicing system for bookings. It can issue invoices to customers and track payments within the admin. it’s not an accounting system and doesn't provide pre-built integration with accounting packages. There’s no advanced accounting or integration to external accounting software without custom development.

Inventory

Not an inventory system but instead BookinIT connects and organizes travel offers from various sources — including your own offers & inventory systems & external providers like Phobs, Traffics, ORS or any other supplier.

Yes – Supports adding your own travel products (hotels, tours, etc.) with allotments. Also, aggregated inventory from APIs is handled in real-time. The system can show live availability from suppliers or decrement allotment counts for manually entered products. In essence, it can serve as an inventory system for an OTA.

Web plugin

Yes – BookinIT is built as a web CMS/booking engine. It integrates into the agency’s website seamlessly (WordPress-based with shortcodes and widgets). Essentially acts as the website’s booking frontend.

It is itself a full website. You don’t “plugin” PHPTRAVELS into another site; you install it as your site or sub-site. It comes with its own front-end templates (which can be customized or replaced). If integrating into an existing site, one would have to use its API or iframe, but typically it replaces the need for a separate site.

Sales functions & channels

BookinIT supports direct online sales through an expert-designed web interface that enables customers to book step-by-step with 24/7 reservations and online payments. Supports marketing features like last minute. In addition, it allows partner sales via embedded iFrames and API integrations, so your offers can be resold directly on partner websites. BookinIT also supports exporting offers to external platforms through OTDS file transfers via Traffics integration, including return links for receiving bookings, inquiries, and search data.

B2C is the main use (selling to consumers online).

Channel manager

BookinIT is not a channel manager but it has it's functionality. It does connect to other Channel Managers like PHOBS gathering the content from channels into your website. Additionally, BookinIT provides opportunity to share offers with B2B partners.

Not a channel manager. It does the opposite (aggregates content from channels into your site). If you are a tour/hotel supplier, PHPTRAVELS won’t push your inventory to Booking.com, etc.

Price

One-time setup fee based on scope + monthly support fee starting from €500.

One-time license – is sold for a one-time price (from ~$499).

Commission on bookings

No commission.

No booking fees to provider; use for B2C websites (agents keep commissions).
